Mid-week… Today we did school out of the house. We wanted to check the last movie for the summer at a local theatre. So we had school after the movie, in the park.

Good Day! We made it to our 4th week… Wow, 4 weeks we have been at school already. Doesn’t seem possible. The Monkey’s are doing really good though. We are really enjoying our History. They are progressing so nicely. I’m so excited for what this year is going to have to offer.

Our second day of school was kind of interesting. My mom taught the two older children. While I took the Little Monkey to have surgery on both her eyes. You can read a bit more about that here.. if you would like to know about it.
That didn’t stop Little Monkey from doing her school work though!

We are doing great so far!
We missed the first couple of days of this week, due to sickness. Therefore, we are just throwing together what we can do this week, and calling it good.
I’ve been working on another way to organize lessons, and I like my newest method. Its just keeping up with it! I need more time!!!
On my other blog “3 Crazy Monkey’s” , I did a review for SpellQuizzer. I just wanted to continue to share my opinion of it over here.
We are always looking for a new way to make things fun. My kids really don’t have an issue with spelling. For the most part it seems to come natural, unless we get into those words that have letters that don’t spell like they sound issues. Anyway… sorry going off track again! However, after weeks and weeks of the same Spelling routine, we have trouble not getting bored, which then leads to issues.
This spelling program was a huge help with that. You can make riddles to ask them with their spelling words, or you can give them clues to get their words. You can even record you asking them, in funny voices, or however it works best for you. Then they get a whole new way of practicing them. Looking to hear more about it? Check out my review here…
Today was a laid back day as well. We visited some friends, and my dad… So the kids did a lot of Phys Ed today!
Then we did school in the car, and they finished up some worksheets they had to do!
This week had been super busy… but we sure did have some fun.
Monday was lots of Valentine’s Day fun! Bowling fun!
Tuesday was messy fun, with lots of glue to make Volcano’s.
Wednesday was more messy fun… First we had a rock lecture, and then we painted Volcano’s.
Thursday was a laid back day at home with the kids… just our normal English, Math, and Spelling.
Friday we started our growing of crystals. To go along with our rock study. Plus our normal Math, English, and then of course our Spelling tests!
That sums up our week. What did you do this week??
Hi! We started home-schooling about 4 months ago…. and it has been a pretty big challenge for me. Well, for the first few months anyway!
The best advice I can give to any new Home-schooling parents is…. “Don’t over think it.” I was told this many times, but it didn’t really sink in until lately. I finally realized the more I let things just happen or didn’t try so hard we had much better luck.
I wanted to start this blog… one cause I love to blog! Feel free to stop by my other blog 3 Crazy Monkey’s (here you can read about our crazy life and product reviews).. Secondly, I wanted to write this blog to help keep a journal of our adventure. I want us to be able to look back at when we made the best decision for our family.
