So after history today, Monkey Man wanted to make something with Lego’s.. So he made his version of the Hanging Gardens of Babylonia. He loved doing this.. and I love watching his knowledge in action!
We love being in 4H… as we are able to do lots of things we normally wouldn’t be able to do..
Yesterday we were suppose to go to a Bakery and do some cookie and cupcake decorating. However… due to the owner getting the flu, we were not able too.
Having made 149 cookies and 82 cupcakes, I was rather bummed.. but we decided to just met at one of the leaders houses, and decorate them on our own then.
Here is some of the stuff the kids did…
Today we did our school work, plus we did a class about Adaptation. This was through our 4H group, and co-op.

Here are some pictures from our class: (I wasn’t with the older group, so I didn’t get any pictures of them)
Younger group introducing everyone
Making nature bracelets
Playing a game to teach about Habitat, Food, and Survival
Things are kind of back to normal. Little Monkey was doing good today.. and had a recheck with the Doctor. Other than keeping her calm for 10 more days, things are looking good!
We did school out and about today, cause we took a break this morning to go see MegaMind at the theatre this morning. We love going to see the free movies!

Our Daddy had to work today, so we are doing a bit of school, to get that out of the way… so we can focus all our attention on Daddy when he gets home.

Littlest Monkey-
We took yesterday off, since I wasn’t feeling that well… and daddy was trying to get regular chores done for me so I wouldn’t fall behind. Plus Monkey Man got invited to go spend the night at a friends house.
Today we just went to a 4 hour Science Fair put on by a local College. This was our first year going to it, and we had heard many great things about it.
It didn’t disappoint that is for sure. Monkey Man was still at the friends so he missed it, but the girls and I had a great time. We even invited a friend who was on vacation from Public School.
Here are a few of the things we did….
So here you can see we tried to make a bridge… (not much luck) Then they tried to make a boat out of clay and see how many nickels they could get it in it before it sank. Then we got to check out some bones… Can you tell what that Skeleton is??
Today we had Co-op in the morning... The kids were pretty excited. Remember the volcano’s we made, that I posted here. While today we got to paint but ran out of time to erupt them. So that is on the agenda for next time.
However, before we could do that, we had a guest speaker. A local museum that doesn’t have heat during the winter (to help keep the costs down, I think they stay closed during winter)came to us. They came to talk about Rocks.. They will be coming in to talk to us over the next few weeks. My kids were pretty excited about that. As rocks are a huge enjoyment in our house.
Here are a few pictures from our morning!
Today we all worked on a project.
We belong to a local Co-op and this semester we are doing Rocks & Mineral’s and Ocean Life. They started with Rocks & Mineral’s. Last week they made Volcano’s from Paper Mache’.
Monkey Man was sick, so we didn’t make it to Co-op meaning that we had to catch up before this week’s meeting.
So today I got brave, and with my friend and her son we made Paper Mache’ volcano’s! (secretly I was excited to do this) It didn’t go to bad. I was rather proud of us. Here are our partly finished Volcano’s… we will be doing more with them tomorrow, so be sure to check back!
One of the great things about Home-schooling is that you doing have to sit in a classroom all day long to get your classes in.
After a long week, of being stuck inside due to sick kids and some really cold weather.. we ventured out to play with some friends.
I’m pretty sure it is safe to say that we got our exercise in today. We went sledding with friends, which you can read more about here. Where you had to walk anywhere from a 1/4 of a mile, to a 1/2 mile to get back up the trail. My legs were like jelly by the end!
What fun we had though!!
